My name is Jess and I’m the main creative behind this artistic hub. I’m so grateful to be able to create wearable altars that honor nature and living close to the earth. Thank you for letting me share these beautiful designs with you.

Spiral Sisters (I interchangeably use Spiral Sisters and Spiral Sister Designs) was formed and forged out of the warm waters of the Pacific ocean and dense jungle thickets of Hawaii’s Big Island. It was here, years ago, that I became friends with a special group of women. We met amongst the waves and wildness, becoming lifelong sisters, in service to the spiraling dance of life. We bonded over a shared love of nature, guiding transformative rites of passage, giggles, and party waves.

We started making jewelry in between our long shifts working with at-risk youth in a wilderness therapy setting, even teaching the youth to make jewelry out of natural materials as a way to regulate their nervous systems. Inspired by all the raw treasures we would find while exploring the island, our hobby quickly transformed into a little business where we’d sell our Spiral Sister Designs to friends and family.

Although we have since parted ways, with some of us still on island and others scattered across the globe, Spiral Sister Designs lives on, centered now on California’s central coast and continuing to weave with kindred sisters here. We create everything by hand, the shells and seeds personally found and collected from across the Pacific. We find the raw materials, such as precious Abalone, on beach wanders, in between surf sessions, often alongside the youth we work with. We incorporate the foraged natural treasures across the Pacific into art and wearable nature altars to be worn and adored.

It is our sincere hope that our jewelry creations connect you with the magic of the Pacific Ocean and the Aloha spiral within and without.
